Already ten years of commitment to the people of Chad. World For Tchad is an organization aiming to help inhabitants of villages in South-West Chad. We are daily committed to guaranteeing access to safe potable water to more than 26,000 people. By the end of 2021, we want to help 10,000 additional people.

World For Tchad DAILY ACTIONS

Founded in 2010, World For Tchad is a French charity which obtained the NGO status in Chad in 2011. Our objectives? Promote access to drinking water and, more broadly, improve hygiene conditions and access to education. Contact our association to learn more about our missions and actions.

Every day, we are fighting for access to safe and clean water for all. It costs World For Tchad €5,000 to build a water well, but each one can give access to drinking water to 1,000 people. Access to potable water is the cornerstone of our intervention. Through it, we are aiming to promote access to education to young boys and girls but also to participate in the improvement of hygiene practices.

FOR ACCESS TO POTABLE WATER

● 1 well = safe drinking water for 1,000 people
● Building sustainable infrastructure
● Construction of 26 water wells in Chad
● 26,000 people supplied with water through World For Tchad actions
● 10 additional wells by the end of 2021

OUR COMMITMENT

According to OCHA, only 43% of the Chadian population has access to basic water services. World For Tchad is committed on a daily basis to the villagers in the Chari-Baguirmi and Hadjer-Lamis regions, in the south-west of Chad, to guarantee them their most essential right: access to water.
Our action is fully in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations:

“Through access to drinking water, Chadian villages would be able to live rather than survive!”

Guy BOYPA, Founder of World For Tchad

OUR PRIORITIES

Promoting access to
drinking water in rural areas

The agreement made with the Chadian government authorizes us to drill 208 wells, to allow to more than 200,000 Chadians to have daily free drinking water on a sustainable basis.

Support access to school for the young people

Access to clean water reduces the risk of water-borne diseases, improves concentration, and thus reduce school absenteeism. Community wells drilling helps to keep kids in school, especially girls. Less time collecting water means more time in class.

Fighting diseases linked to poor living conditions

We will ensure to complete the inauguration of every new well by health education and hygiene promotion.
